OpenLV is delighted to announce that a number of videos about the project – which has opened up access to local electricity network data – will be launched over the coming weeks.
The impacts of the project in the area of Social Responsibility is the theme of the first video to be released, capturing the views of project partners and participants.
Open access to network data has the potential to help communities, including the fuel poor and vulnerable, benefit from the smart grid.
The Social Responsibility video includes contributions from Andrew Padmore, CEO, Egnida; Kate Royston, Tamar Energy Community; and Ray Holland, Yealm Community Energy.
Regen has worked alongside the Centre for Sustainable Energy to explore how community organisations can use local electricity network data and to understand the benefit they gain from it.
Regen’s Ky Hoare says “Communities want to engage local people in energy issues and to understand what’s going on in their local area. The communities that have taken part in OpenLV have really valued being part of the trial.”
